Miscellaneous Hotel Info

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Björnhofvda Gård. We hope you enjoy your stay. Please do let us or our team know if there is anything we can do to help you enjoy your stay. Here follows some information which may come in handy:

The reception

is normally manned from early morning to midnight but if it happens we are not around, please call 0457 3447727.

Check-in

All our rooms are cleaned by 3:00 pm. If you arrive earlier, feel free to wait in the lounge.

Check out

Please, check out by 11:00, at noon at the latest. If you would like a later check out than that, ask a team member. We may have to make a small charge for this service (as we will have to keep our lovely housekeeping team on for a bit longer). Otherwise we are happy to keep your luggage here for you to collect later. Please leave your door unlocked and hand over the key at the reception.

Cleaning of room

  If want your room cleaned during your stay, please inform our team. The staff will ask you at breakfast if you wish your room cleaned.

Payments

We accept all debit cards and major credit cards (except American Express). If you wish, we will compile your expenses during your stay for you to pay at check out.

Internet

Free wireless access in all facilities.

Smoking

No Smoking in the hotel! There are ashtrays outdoors – otherwise, ask staff.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the hotel’s dining room every morning from 8:30 to 10:00 am. Please let us know if you wish otherwise. We serve Fair Trade coffee.

Tea & Coffee

Tea or coffee along with a cake or scones is served in the lobby at 3 pm o 4 pm every day; €9

Refreshments

Beer, soft drinks, cocktails, wine, liqueur and snacks/sandwiches and the like can be purchased at the reception/bar. Ice cubes are available free of charge. The wine and drink lists are displayed in the bar (and in this binder).

Dinner

Dinner is normally served between 6 and 9 pm. You’ll find the menu in this binder. If you wish to dine, please notify us by breakfast.

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea is served on Sundays September to May at 3-5.30 pm. Reservation needed; €30, €40 along with a glass of Crèmant.

Packed lunches / Picnic

If you would like us to prepare a packed lunch/picnic, please let us know the day before. These cost €10 each and include a sandwich, a small pack of crisps, a fruit and a bottle of juice.

Sauna

Closed at the moment.

Bikes

We have bikes for our guests to borrow for shorter trips around the area (€10 fee for reservation).

Boats

We have a rowing boat and a canoe for our guests to borrow for shorter trips around the area. (€10 fee for reservation).

The Jetty

Welcome to use the jetty but bear in mind that our neighbours love the tranquillity of this area. Bring back your trash and put in the recycle bins behind the conservatory or hand over to us. Please note: Walk only on the path where you find the sign: “To the Jetty”.

Laundry / Steamer

Ask the staff if you need laundry service for €10 per load/machine. A steamer is available for you to borrow in the reception.

Toiletries

We have chosen to provide our guests shampoo and soap in refillable containers since this is better for the environment. In the reception, we have a wide rage of other pampering toiletries, such as razors, combs, toothpaste, toothbrushes etcetera for free. Just tell us what you need.

Car Hire

If you wish a ride in our Mercedes 1964, it goes along with a chauffeur. Talk to Hans!

Safe Deposit

If there is no safety box in your room you may  use the reception’s safe deposit box, free of charge.

Sightseeing

Ask our team for places recommended to see on Åland. If you want to take a walk, we may also be to your help. Road signs with “Private” mean that you are not allowed to drive a vehicle there. To walk there is perfectly ok. Be careful not trespassing other people’s property though.

Trails

Ask for a map over the area and we can provide you with information about nice spots and views in the vicinity.

Newspapers

The local newspaper, Ålandstidningen can be found in the lobby from time to time along with the Swedish Dagens Nyheter and/or the Finnish Hufvudstadsbladet. We also have novels, coffee table books, magazines, games, decks of cards etcetera if you wish to borrow.
